Regina has used her working-class experiences overcoming personal challenges towards a career in serving the community. As the daughter of hard-working parents who instilled in her the importance of integrity and compassion, she put herself through college while working full-time and eventually earned a degree from Monterey College of the Law.  Her experiences have inspired her to help others, advocating for seniors and youth, women’s safety, health and bringing vital services to those in need.

As the award-winning Executive Director of Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley, Regina has been on the frontlines in providing nutritional needs for homebound seniors and a regional leader in addressing the healthy food needs of all families during the worst days of the COVID crisis.

Elected in 2018 to the Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System Board, Regina is endorsed by the California Nurses Association for championing accessible, affordable healthcare for seniors, children, and the most vulnerable in our County.

Regina Gage was recently honored by the Non-profit Alliance of Monterey County with their Unsung Hero award for her leadership in creating partnerships between private funders, governmental agencies, and locally owned restaurants to provide food to families during COVID.

She and her husband Steuart have lived in Prunedale for more than 20 years, where they've been outspoken in the fight to draw attention and resources to North County.
